Me, The Kit Library and Funding
Who Am I?
Good question! My name is Guy Quickenden, though in various forums, I’ve also been known as EldinTux and The LARP Coach. I’ve been involved in LARP on and off since 1992, back when weapon cores could be made of wood and battle boarding was the main way to track characters.
Beyond LARP, I enjoy a range of related hobbies, including TTRPGs, costume and kit making, and miniature painting.
Like many "ancient" LARPers, I have a spare room overflowing with kit that I’ll probably never wear again—but you never know when something might come in handy (especially the week after I give it away!). Instead of parting with my hoard, I’ve decided to lend it out to fellow LARPers. For a small donation to help maintain the Library, anyone attending the same LARP events as me can borrow kit—just get in touch and let me know what you need!
The Kit Library
Want to see what I have available? I’ve put together this website to showcase my collection. If you’re looking for something specific and don’t see it listed, just ask! I’m always acquiring new kit, and some items might not have made it onto the site yet.
You can browse the Library here. The system works like a shop—except everything is free to borrow! Simply add the kit you need to your cart and submit a request.
Funding the Project
Let me be clear: I’m not looking to make a profit from my spare kit. However, running this project does come with costs, including:
- Purchasing new kit
- Repairing and maintaining old kit
- Storage
- Website upkeep
How Can You Help?
Aside from the borrowing donation I request from users, there are two main ways to support The Kit Library:
Regular donators through my Ko-Fi page & Subscribers to my Twitch channel will also receive a discount.
If you have any questions or want to get involved, feel free to reach out. Happy LARPing!
