Me, The Kit Library and Funding

Who am I?

That's a good question. My name is Guy Quickenden but I have been known as EldinTux & The LARP Coach in various forums. I have been LARPing on & off since 1992 when cores of weapons could be made of wood and battle boarding was the main way of keeping track of characters.

As well as LARPing I have the usual slew of related hobbies including TTRPG, costume & kit making and figure painting.

Like many 'ancient' LARPer's I have a spare room full of kit I'm probably never going to wear again. But there is always a chance it might become useful (especially the week after I give it to someone else). So that I don't have to 'give up' my trove of 'stuff' I have decided to lend it out to people. This is a free service that anyone who is attending the same LARP's I do, can access. All you have to do is contact me with what you'd like to borrow.

The Kit Library

You are going to want to know what I have. So I have put together this website to showcase the kit I have hoarded. But please if you can't find that one thing you want, ask. I'm getting new kit all the time & some of it may not have appeared on the site yet

You can find The Library here. Please have a browse, this acts like a shop so you can go to the cart to request some kit, please do mention which LARP you require the kit at in the nores section.

Funding

As I said elsewhere this service is free to the people who use it. I am NOT looking to make money from my spare kit. But having said that this does cost me some money to do. Costs come in the form of buying new kit, repairing old kit, there are some one use items such as makeup sponges that need replenishing and then there is this website.

So how do I fund this service?

The 3 main ways are listed below. If you have a generous soul please consider doing one of the following:

Kit donations - some fellow LARPers have given me their old kit to add to my collection. Much the kit on here was either my own or donated from like minded spirits

Monetary Donations - I have a Ko-Fi page where you can donate directly

Or finally Twitch. I run a Twitch page on Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays (Work & LARP permitting) 7pm UK time. On here I can do a variety of different activities but in the main I paint Miniatures for a few hours whilst talking about almost anything. All the money raise through this medium from Subs, Bits etc goes to The Kit Library
